The Charity

Sylvia and Terry Phillips started the Sanctuary which gained Charity status in 1980. They began the principle of maintaining a small and personal establishment, which allows for each animal to be cared for as an individual and given all the love and attention they deserve.

Since the beginning many children and adults including the disabled and the disadvantaged have gained great benefit from close contact with our animals and we still see this as an important part of what we do.

DHAPS are looking to rehome horses and ponies

With the end of the recession DHAPS is happy to report that the amount horses and ponies needing a new home has dramatically dropped, however the amount of people wanting to give a loving home has increased. Because of this DHAPS has set up a system on the website where people looking to rehome their equines can register with us and we will try our best to match these horses/ponies with people from our list of loan homes.

If you would like to add details of your horse or pony then please go to the front page to register and then pick Loan Scheme from the menu.

Our aim is to make sure that all equines are given the best chance in life and we give 100% to finding the right home.
