The Sanctuary has always had terrific support from the media, with the national press, local newspapers and radio stations featuring it's work and we realised that we also needed a Press page to post news items in a format that the media can use.
Because many of our stories would feature in both sections we decided to combine the two, and so we have arrived at our... News & Press Page!

Imperial the very lovable and full of character Police Horse will be joining our merry gang on the 24th February, he joins us from the Bristol and Avon Mounted Police Branch where he is very popular amounst all the Police staff and people of Bristol.

PONY SANCTUARY MAILINGS
Over the past week the Devon Horse and Pony Sanctuary has received many calls from people saying they have received leaflets and gifts in the post from an organisation called the Pony Sanctuary, these mailings are asking for money but they do not provide a website address or contact details other than a PO Box address in Ross on Wye, so when the Pony Sanctuary is googled, our website comes up.

New Boy on the Block
Gallipoli our new retired Police Horse arrived from the Metropolitan Police on Friday 6th May.
New Met Police Due to Arrive on 6/5/2011
We are happy to anounce that on the 6th May 2011 we will have a new addition to the Sanctuary, his name is Gallipoli and he is retiring from the Metropolitan Police. He is 13 years old and is retiring due to a possible back condition called Wobblers disease. We will update our news page when we have more information.
Meet Our Newest Recruit
KINGSTON
Kingston joins us from the Metropolitan Police, he is a good looking 16h dark bay, 9 year old Irish Sports Horse. Kingston is unusually small for a Police horse and fine boned, but he definitely looks the part when he is all dressed up and ready to go on Patrol.
