Imperial
We are very sad to say that Imperial is no longer joining us here at the Devon Horse and Pony Sanctuary.
Imperial spent some time at Horse World while he recovered from a bout of illness and after much thought we felt that he would be better off staying with Horse World where the people of Bristol can enjoy going to see their much loved and famous police horse. Although we would have loved to have taken care of Imperial we had to think of what was best for him and because he was settled at Horse World and happy this seemed the best decision.

Imperial the very lovable and full of character Police Horse will be joining our merry gang on the 24th February, he joins us from the Bristol and Avon Mounted Police Branch where he is very popular amounst all the Police staff and people of Bristol.
Imperial has had to retire from the Police due to illness which requires lots of care and attention which we are able to give here at the Sanctuary. However when asked whether we were able to take Imperial we ummed and ahhed as we already have a large group of horses ranging from Lewis who is 18hands to cracker our handsome little shetland, we really didn't think we would be able to fit another one in and also have the finances for one more mouth, however no one was able to take on Imperial and he faced an uncertain future so we decided that we would be able to squeeze him in, whats one more horse??
We look forward to having Imperial with us as we are already familiar with his very lovable personality and huge character from our visits to the Bristol Police Open Days, as you can see from the picture he is a bit of a comedian.
The Bristol Police will be providing us with lots of stories and pictures of Imperial and we will update our website and facebook page when we have them.
